Newcastle Chartered Accountants Russell & Co have recently recruited two new members to their team. The addtitions take the company up to four members of staff and sets them up well for their ambitious expansion plans.
Alan McCord has taken on the role of accounts preparation manager and will oversee the work of the team. His background, which has seen him work in both the accountancy and business world will allow him to assist the firm’s client base of small and medium sized businesses to improve their accounting systems.
The other new member of the team is Sophie Ditchburn, who has joined as a Trainee Accountant, on a Modern Apprentice scheme through Access Training. Sophie left school in the summer and plans to train to eventually become a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Taking on a trainee allows us to mould a team member so that they do the job our way rather than bringing bad habits from elsewhere, as well as, helping a young person to fulfil her ambition.
